Review

Dan Brown is such a beast that I feel guilty rating these movies, because they’re just so impressive. The elements that he incorporates from history and religion are recognizable to the layman and are iconic references to those who are familiar with them. Not only the plot, but the characters in this movie are also quite fleshed out. Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks), Vittoria Vetra (Ayelet Zurer), Commander Richter (Stellan Skarsgard), and the Camerlengo were all main character material, with compelling moments and characteristics that made them all relevant to the plot. Even the Assassin’s (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) character was shockingly honourable. The music and pacing used to hold the audience in and create suspense are probably the best aspects of these movies, and you’ll definitely learn something that you didn’t know before.

Spoiler Territory

Not exactly sure how they collected antimatter, but sure. The whole elemental part of the mystery, with Earth, Air, Fire, and Water, was really cool to watch, especially when he was looking for historical connections to each. The map drawing to show symmetry and the initial message deciphering was really cool. Also the Camerlengo burning himself was so metal; the whole business with the helicopter was pretty cool too. The Assassin’s scenes were quite entertaining also.
