Review
This movie is a meme, by all means, and is so frustrating to sit through, but it IS funny. Full credit to Mike Myers for playing both Austin Powers and Dr. Evil (I seriously didn’t catch this, somehow). They make fun of all the spy movie cliches, which is where Vanessa (Elizabeth Hurley) comes in, and she’s also fairly good in this role. Everything is really, really over-the-top, but I don’t think it ever gets too slow, particularly on first viewing. The storyline with the son is pretty random, as are the female robots and the transitions with the band, and Austin’s teeth are just not nice to look at. Lots of randomness.
Spoiler Territory
Not really spoiler-sensitive.
