Review

So the thing is, this movie is weird, but it’s funny. Barry (Jerry Seinfeld) is just such a bee version of Seinfeld, and his humour was just great for me. Seinfeld writes and delivers really well here too. Then Adam is Matthew Broderick, which is an instant bonus (I’m a bit of a superfan). Still, Barry’s relationship with Vanessa is just so absurdly funny to watch, and it’s arguably even funnier to watch the other characters react in outrage to the two of them - particularly Ken (Patrick Warburton). There’s so many little pop-culture inserts with Chris Rock as a mosquito, Larry King as himself, Ray Liotta as himself, etc. But the message of the movie is actually still decently meaningful in that it expresses the importance of bees’ existence to our ecosystems. They do slip in a bunch of pretty interesting bee facts too.

Spoiler Territory

Not really spoiler-sensitive.
