Review

“Touch the Sky” is one of the best songs I’ve heard in a WHILE. Disney don’t sleep. It’s such a pity that this movie gets slept on because of Frozen, but it’s actually a solid (very similar) story that’s totally watchable. I thought the over-ethnic scottishness would put me off, but Merida is kinda awesome. The parents, King Fergus (Billy Connoly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson) were some of the best, most realistic parents I’ve seen in Disney movies, and the triplets were cool. All the bear scenes were pretty funny, and Merida overall is such a compelling protagonist. The story isn’t at all complicated, and the archery scene is pretty amazing. Animation is great too. Overall a solid movie.
