Review

Can I just say, coolest name for any movie ever. Now, it’s pretty long and has a long plot, but the fight scenes are what make this movie iconic. Li Mu Bai (Chow Yunfat), Yu Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh), and Jen Yu all fly through the air and over water like it’s nothing, and the effects give it a certain reality that even more modern movies fail to achieve. Definitely something that’s unmatched. Also, this movie is more progressive than most would expect, encouraging an engaged girl to seek her own personal identity and representing two fierce female warriors. The Jade Fox (Cheng Peipei) was a bit much, but Jen Yu’s storyline with The Dark Cloud (Chang Chen) in the desert was fairly enjoyable.
