Review
I’m not going to say that Emma Stone saved this movie, but her unique voice gave the “narration”-type structure a lot of life, and her acting was certainly fresh and believable in the teen-protagonist role (particularly with sarcasm). If there was any movie that I’d compare this movie to, it’d be Mean Girls - there’s an impressive cast (Stanley Tucci, Amanda Bynes, Lisa Kudrow, Patricia Clarkson), a unique protagonist, and an awkward, self-aware tone that hits home for a very specific audience. And while both were incredibly similar in terms of tone, I feel like this movie was a little less well-executed, and more awkward (not in a good way). But might be cool to watch with friends.

Not really spoiler-sensitive.
