Review

The cast of this movie is so distinguished that there's almost no one alive who would feel estranged (Jack Black, Angeline Jolie, Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogen, Dustin Hoffman). And while they all did phenomenally, my two personal favorite characters in this movie were Tai Lung (Ian McShane) and Oogway, both of whom brought their own comedic-but-deep qualities to the film whenever they were involved. Jack Black is always fun to watch, and he carries the movie well, and a generally solid plot and entertaining visuals places this really high by default. The comedy does get taken a bit too far at times, not in the offensive sense, but just a bit annoying at times. The color palette was pretty bland throughout as well, and for an animated film, it definitely could have used a little more lively colors.

Spoiler Territory

Not really spoiler-sensitive.
