Review
Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are like a proper pairing now, huh? They're pretty solid, to be fair. Mia (Emma Stone) and Sebastian have great chemistry and have pretty relatable career struggles in acting and music respectively. Even though the songs and choreographies are what make this movie a little more poetic than its base content, I think it's Sebastian's jazz obsession that was the show-stealer. I wasn't expecting it at all, and the movie somehow converted me to a jazz purist in the middle there. “Someone in the Crowd” and “A Lovely Night” are probably my favourite songs, but the final sequence with the alternate timeline was probably the most eloquent sequence in the movie - good, mature ending.
