Review
Definitely one of the most peaceful movies I've seen, and it's got all the standard Shinto charm and weirdness. Music is calming and the scenery in this movie is especially nice. I know it has a lot of symbolism for Japanese people, but it's not a bad watch. The sister dynamic between Satsuki and Mei (Chika Sakamoto) is pretty cute and makes up most of the movie. Takamoto and the Cat Bus are pretty cool but also the Cat Bus scares the hell out of me and Takamoto looks pretty weird. Also the ‘plot' of the whole movie is a little meh, since it's just them chilling for most of it. Still, it's a pretty accurate representation of a challenging coming-of-age (you know, minus all the kami).
